Bistro Kino, Lund
At one of Lund's coziest addresses, Bistro Kino has opened its doors – a place where food, environment and materials interact in perfect balance. As soon as we stepped into the premises for the first time, we felt that this was going to be something special. The interior (and the service!) is warm, soft and playful. Nothing is arranged, but everything is connected.
The team behind it confidently picked out a rather diverse mix of plates and bowls in both glass and stoneware. Matte and shiny surfaces alternate, the colors move between natural earth tones and deep shades – a kind of well-balanced disorder that makes every table setting lively and inviting - and that feels so natural!
It's a table setting that doesn't feel afraid to take up space, but still stays on the right side of harmonious. The china is chosen to elevate the food, enhance the feel of the room, and create a memorable experience that feels both natural and well thought out.
For us at Norling Studio, this is exactly the type of project we love – where every choice of material plays a role and where beauty lies in the whole, not in everything being exactly the same. Kino Bistron shows that it doesn't have to be rigid to be beautiful – and that a vibrant table setting is at least as important as the menu.
